500 years ago, Katharina von Zimmern handed over the Fraumünster and its monastic assets to the city of Zurich, giving the Reformation decisive momentum and enabling a peaceful transition without civil war. Her act allowed the dissolution of all Zurich monasteries and set a new course for church reform.
Despite the absence of any visual representation of Katharina von Zimmern, she is the central figure of the 2024 anniversary, inviting us to explore Zurich’s history from a fresh perspective.

The Band – A Symbol of Connection
Our communication concept bridges the Middle Ages and today through the “Band”, inspired by medieval scrolls that represented spoken or sung words and connected image and text.

On posters and flyers, the band visually links all jubilee events, serving as the unifying element of the celebrations.
